Measures of Student Achievement and Success
EQAO
Students at Broadview participate in the provincial EQAO testing at Grades 3 and 6.
Portfolios
Student work is maintained in portfolios, in various stages of completion. The portfolios are used by students, staff and parents to track student progress, to retain exemplary work, and to assist in setting goals and in developing education plans.
Reading Comprehension
• PM/GB+ Benchmarks for the primary students
• CASI for junior/intermediate students
Participation in Regional and National Programs
• Participation in Math Competitions (Guass, Pythagoras, Fibonacci)
• Participation in Science Competitions
• Strong participation in music and the arts (grade 7 and 8 instrumental music program, Grade 7 and 8 concert bands, Jazz Band, Artist in Residence program, Visual Arts and Design and Technology program for all intermediate students, primary and junior choirs
• Strong participation in daily Phys. Ed., intramural and competitive sports teams
• Broadview students share their successes in individual, group, and class situations

School Improvement Plans and Initiatives
The Broadview Avenue Public School Improvement Plan includes a review of student data, in the context of the results of classroom observation and daily performance, student test results, and demographic factors. Input is solicited from staff and School Council members. There is a school initiative to review student data from a variety of sources to assist teachers in determining areas for student improvement.
